Hopkins Computing uses the latest in software development tools to create mission critical applications.

Recent personal computer projects have utilized Microsoft Visual C++ and Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC).
Recent embedded solutions have been done in assembly language on Ubicom (formally Scenix) SX microprocessors and Microchip PIC microprocessors.
Recent PDA development has been done using Metrowerks CodeWarrior  in C++ and AppForge's software using Visual Basic.

Custom Data Collection and Reporting Software

The standard data collection and reporting capabilities of the industrial software is very limited and it is often necessary to report data in some special format. That is where we step in. We can collect the data from your control system and store it in industry-standard databases. We can then take this data and format it to look like the manually filled-in form that is required by the company or government agency.

Embedded Control Systems

We recently developed a multi-channel data logger that required a circuit board only 1.25" x 6.75" that could take samples once an hour and run for up to a year on a single 9 volt battery. The logger could be connected to a Windows based display program to upload the historical information.

PDA Software

Having software tools close at hand is now possible since PDA have gotten so powerful. We have been working on database applications for both the Palm platform and the Pocket PC platform.

DDE and OPC Data Servers

If you have a piece of equipment that can communicate to a personal computer that you need to connect to your HMI software, we can provide that connection. We are experts at solving communications problems.

Encryption

We have recently developed file transfer software that used used high level encryption algorithms to ensure that the files got to the correct party and that only the intended receiver could access the files. We have also used encryption techniques to limit access and to ensure that data has not be tampered with.
